About The Organizers
The Spitfire Tour was originally created in 1998 by a group of music industry friends who wanted to find a way to further promote the message behind the music they were involved in. It was their belief that a speaking tour would be a good way to generate interest in a number of causes that needed more grassroots attention. One of these people was human rights advocate Zack De la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine), who helped spearhead the project by reaching out to his activist friends like Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) and more. These folks signed up to launch the first college tour in the Fall of 1998, which turned out to be a terrific success. More than two years later, Spitfire continues to tour colleges, but is now a non profit foundation, and focuses on student activism year-round.

Booking Spitfire
Spitfire tours to college campuses each year, in the Fall. In order to appear at your school, we must be invited by your student government. In addition to an invitation, they need to cover a portion of our costs in getting there. Although we are a non profit tour, we do need to cover our costs & speaker payments (fees which go to their non profit causes). Although our events are generally free to students, with a group of 10 organizers/speakers & concert-like production, this can be quite expensive (up to $15,000). So, if you would like to see us at your school, what you need to do is contact your student government & ask them to book Spitfire through our agent. They usually pay for these types of programs out of your student activities fees (that $20 you cough up each semester), so it's your money, and your vote should certainly count!

Once your school decides they want to book us, they need to contact our agent, Sean at Keppler Associates. If you are not part of the student government, please don't contact him, as he's quite busy setting up dates for us. However, you are welcome to contact the Spitfire organizers, and we will be happy to answer any questions that you have.

Finally, if you are a independent promoter, and you are interested in booking Spitfire in your city, we are doing a few promoter dates, so please click here!

Sponsoring Spitfire
The Spitfire Tour is funded in part by student activities fees, and also from donations from our sponsors. For more information on sponsorship, please contact The Spitfire Agency.
